Alcalá del Valle is a town that is located in the Serranía de Cádiz valley, making it a natural attraction with special charm. Knowing its history through its monuments, historical and religious buildings is one of the most interesting activities to do in the town.

Dolmenes de Tomillo archaeological site is a key stop to do during your visit to Alcalá del Valle. Walking its streets and squares you can visit some places of special interest, such as the Plaza del Emigrante square, where tribute is paid to all those countrymen who left their town.

One of the key monuments of the municipality is Fuente Grande, where the history of Alcalá is reflected.

The culture of Alcalá del Valle can also be known through the religious buildings there are. The most important one, for its size and baroque architecture, is the Church of Santa María del Valle. You will also find the beautiful Convent of Caños Santos, located in a unique environment, worth seeing and difficult to forget.

Alcalá del Valle, like other municipalities, has characteristic festivities. The Pilgrimage of Caños Santos is celebrated every first of May; fair and festivities in honour of its patron saint, San Roque, is the largest feast in the municipality and receives the most visits. Finally, the feast of the saint’s day of Nuestra Patrona la Virgen del Valle, on September 8.

Other feasts are the evenings and festivals organised by neighbourhood associations and the Peña Cultural Flamenca.
