What to see in Algar?

Algar, a municipality located in the Sierra de Cádiz, is an ideal place to visit and from which to know the province. This town is surrounded by the spectacular ​​Los Alcornocales Natural Park, which is a natural area of great beauty that you should’nt miss.

To enjoy beautiful views and outstanding landscape, go to the Guadalcacín Reservoir, one of the largest in the province. Going into the natural sites we reach some ruins of some Roman fortresses surrounded by a magnificent natural environment where there is also a spring. This place is known as the Remains of Fortresses of Tempul and Birth of Water (Spring of Tempul).

Walking the streets of Algar you can find historic buildings. They are characteristic places full of culture that reflect the history of the municipality, such as the Bullring.

You can also visit 18th-century religious buildings, such as the Santa María de Guadalupe Parish Church. You will be able to know in depth the origins of this town.
