Playa de Getares Beach is a city beach in Algeciras (Province of Cádiz). It is surrounded by mountains and vegetation. It has several services that make it very comfortable to use.
Its name comes from a nearby Roman salting factory called Caetaria, where it would derive to Cetariis, adapted to Arabic as Xetares.
On this Getares beach there are two distinct areas: San García to the north, where you can visit the Parque del Centenario and, on the other hand, the area of Getares itself. The entire beach is surrounded by semi-detached houses.
It is equipped with a central service area and three modular sets of services with toilets for disabled people. It also has a module for health care, rescue and first aid, surveillance, loudspeaker, wastebaskets, showers (adapted), fountains (adapted) and children’s games. In addition, tapas bars, restaurants, shops and much more share space on the promenade.
