EVERYTHING YOU HAVE TO SEE IN ZAHARA DE LOS ATUNES
Zahara de los Atunes is a beautiful coastal town with a multitude of beautiful beaches where you can practise sports and active tourism activities that put you in touch with nature in an incomparable environment. The town has a great variety of things and places to visit, both in the urban area and in its natural environment.
Zahara has excellent beaches surrounded by green mountain areas, offering spectacular views from any perspective that you will only find here. One of these beaches is the famous Cala de los Alemanes, located between Cabo de Gracia and Cabo La Plata. It is a highly recommended beach for those who want to enjoy the tranquility of the area (as long as it is not summer). It can be defined as a beach of fine, golden sand and with crystalline and semi-urban waters, since it is close to the Atlanterra residential area. There are some villas but no promenade.
Another well-known Zahara beach is the Virgen del Carmen Beach or Zahara de los Atunes Beach. This is ideal for families with children. It is perfectly equipped with lifeguard and civil protection posts, beach bars, public showers, public toilets, kiosks, hammock rentals, wooden walkways and much more. It has ample parking but of a private nature, although there is one with numerous places on public roads.
The beach has a particularity that attracts many: you can see there the Gibralfaro steamboat, stranded a few metres from the shore since it sank. We also highlight the quaint traditional fishing boats that you can find in front of the Zapal neighbourhood, in Zahara historic centre.
Finally, another well-known one is the Beach of Atlanterra for families of all type, being a beach of stone and sand. You can enjoy great walks in front of the private residential areas with views of Cabo Espartel and Tangier.
Zahara de los Atunes also has a beautiful and cosy town centre, with several historic buildings and white streets to see and wander. There is a wide variety of restaurants, tapas bars and beach bars around. You will find there an unbeatable atmosphere in the summer months.
This town offers first-class accommodation, much in demand during the holiday months by visitors from all corners of the country.
Of course, Zahara de los Atunes is one of the jewels of the Province of Cádiz. TUDESTINO wants you to discover every corner of the Province of Cádiz. You will always want to go back to the south!
Playa de Cañillos / Botero, halfway between Barbate and Zahara de los Atunes, is a fine sandy beach with beautiful views. Being a military beach, there are few who come. To access you have to walk from Zahara or Barbate to one of its two extremes. If you prefer to go by car, you can...
Playa de Zahara de los Atunes extends along the town that gives it its name up to Cabo de Plata, transformed into Atlanterra beach. Crystal clear waters, fine sand, incredible walks and sunsets in an urban and natural environment that will make you repeat. It is ideal for families with children. As a curiosity, we...
