Regarding traditional stews, don’t hesitate to try carne al toro (stewed meat) and atún encebollado (tuna with onions poached in Spanish olive oil). Don’t forget about their cold starters, the famous shrimp tortillitas or various types of potato dishes and sandwiches.
There is also space for some Dominican specialities that will surprise you. Carne al toro con yuca (stewed meat with yucca) or the delicious tostones (fried sliced banana) sound pretty mouthwatering, right?
