Laguna de la Paja, located in Chiclana de la Frontera, is a 40-hectare wetland with shallow depth and temporary waters according to the rain. Its ecological value is very high.
Laguna de la Paja is practically located in the centre of Chiclana de la Frontera. It is a 40-hectare wetland formed in a flat area. It has shallow depth (half a metre maximum) and temporary waters according to the volume of rain.
In addition to the interest of the fauna that is concentrated in the lagoon (especially birds), it is also its vegetation that characterises it.
It is a Concerted Natural Reserve within the Network of Protected Natural Areas of Andalusia (RENPA in Spanish) thanks to its high ecological value and the birdlife that inhabits it.
