Laguna de la Paja is practically located in the centre of Chiclana de la Frontera. It is a 40-hectare wetland formed in a flat area. It has shallow depth (half a metre maximum) and temporary waters according to the volume of rain.

In addition to the interest of the fauna that is concentrated in the lagoon (especially birds), it is also its vegetation that characterises it.

It is a Concerted Natural Reserve within the Network of Protected Natural Areas of Andalusia (RENPA in Spanish) thanks to its high ecological value and the birdlife that inhabits it.

Bonito lugar para observar la fauna y flora pero desgraciadamente tiene un acceso malísimo y una carretera muy concurrida alrededor. Una pena.

La laguns estaba seca y poco accesible. Fuimos al Pinar del Hierro muy bonito para echar el día con senderos merenderos fuentes y parques infantiles
