Los Toruños Marshland and La Algaida Pine Forest (“Marisma de los Toruños y Pinar de la Algaida”) is a key landscape element in the Bay of Cádiz.
It occupies 1,000 hectares and is located between El Puerto de Santa María and Puerto Real. This metropolitan park has a public service vocation to enhance the cultural, ethnographic, historical and environmental values of its surroundings. In this way, the population of the Bay of Cádiz and its visitors can enjoy an extraordinary place.
Los Toruños Marshland and La Algaida Pine Forest is located in a setting dominated by the mouth of the San Pedro River. The coast, the marsh, the dunes and the pine forest are united in origin.
It offers, along its 30 kilometres of trails, a great biodiversity. This differs in the two margins of the San Pedro River. On the left we find La Algaida, a very forested area; and to the right we find Los Toruños, with the characteristics of the marsh.
