El Cao (Canal of Artillery of Charles III of Spain) was a water conveyance that served the surrounding mills, blast furnaces, canon factories and iron batteries. It was installed by Charles III of Spain in the late 18th century in Jimena de la Frontera (Province of Cadiz).
Bombs and cannonballs were produced there. It worked for more than 10 years. This canal is the only thing that still remains, built with blocks of stone in the initial stage and the rest with a mixture of pebbles and mortar.
