The climate of Jerez countryside (Campiña de Jerez) is Mediterranean, influenced by the sea that softens the temperatures.
Traditionally, the economy of the countryside depended on characteristic elements of the area: the horse, the vineyard and agriculture. Its world-famous agriculture is based on the origin of Jerez wine. In addition, other important land crops are cotton and beetroot.
Also, wine lovers are offered guided tours in the wineries where you can see the winemaking and even tastings.
One of the emblematic activities of the region is the breeding of the brave bull. We will also find important wetlands scattered throughout the region.
The offer of activities are mainly outdoors or in contact with nature. Most of these are related to the horse, the wine or the brave bull. We must highlight the equestrian shows offered by the Royal Equestrian School of Jerez.
The cultural offer in the Jerez countryside occurs primarily in flamenco clubs and museums, all related to traditional activities in this area. We especially highlight the Museos de la Atalaya and the Archaeological Museum.
On the other hand, visits to the zoo, popular festivals and motorcycle races organised in the Jerez circuit are an important pillar of leisure and recreation activities in the region.
