The best natural attractions in San Fernando

If you are a nature lover, we recommend to visit San Fernando. The province of Cádiz is well known for protecting many of its natural landscapes in an exceptional way. Rich and varied with flora and where wonderful species of different animals live.

The Bay of Cadiz Natural Park, in the central part of the Atlantic coast of the province, is situated on a large area of wetlands. The special ecological characteristics of these wetlands are caused by the influence of the nearby ocean and the mild Mediterranean climate. They coexist with a high human population, a large industrial and economic activity and saline marshy areas. If you are feeling like going into this Natural Park, do so on foot or by bike. You’ll love it!

Playa del Castillo and Playa de Camposoto are two extensive golden-sand beaches. Take a walk peacefully… You will notice that time seems to stand still.

San Fernando Botanical Garden is the best place for you to discover the wide range of flora of the province of Cadiz. It houses several Andalusian plant species in danger of extinction. Moreover, it has an interesting collection of more than 600 plants.

Punta del Boquerón is a beautiful place in the Bay of Cadiz Natural Park. A sand split (a sand accumulation in front of the coastline) forming a spectacular line of virgin dunes in an extraordinary environment. This creates an authentic Natural Monument. It is a quiet place with spectacular views of the Sancti Petri Castle and has some of the most unforgettable sunsets.

You will find all this and more in San Fernando. TUDESTINO gives you all the information you need, as well as a set of activities that will make your time here unforgettable!
