Would you like to know Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Spain) in a fun, sustainable and healthy way? Do it thanks to the Monte Algaida hiking trail.
The route of this path runs along the forest track that crosses the Pinar de Monte Algaida pine forest, a repopulation forest owned by the City Council of Sanlúcar de Barrameda. It is located on a tongue of sand surrounded by marshes. At the entrance of the pine forest there is a path to the left that leads to the Tarelo lagoon. From there it is possible to observe water birds; like mallards, coots and tufted ducks. Especially relevant are the chameleons that populate the pine forest.
There are numerous archaeological remains, since this place is related to those first civilisations that settled at the mouth of the Guadalquivir river. The Lux Dubiae sanctuary, of Turdetan origin, is dedicated to Venus, the roman Goddess.
The numerous paths that cross the pine forest allow you to discover it and enjoy it to the fullest.
