From the Nasrid period (XIV-XV century), the Ermita de San Antonio (Hermitage of San Antonio) welcomes us as soon as we arrive in Ubrique (Spain). Surrounded by narrow white streets, its large clock marks the hours for all locals.
A few metres away from the Peñón de la Becerra, it offers one of the best views from its viewpoint. It was open to worship during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries. In the 18th century, it was demolished in order to build another new plant, but conserving the structure of its tower.
The Ermita de San Antonio remained as a permanent symbol of the town, adorned with the Cruz del Tajo and the Sierra de Ubrique.
