Torre de los Perdigones, in Seville, is located in Resolana street, in San Gil district. Formerly it was part of the Fábrica de los Perdigones, but has now become a camera obscura lookout tower and, therefore, a great tourist attraction.
Torre de los Perdigones is located on Resolana street, in the San Gil district (Seville). It is located just a few metres away from the Barqueta Bridge, the main gateway to Expo ’92. This tower was formerly part of the famous Fábrica de Perdigones (“Pellets Factory”) of Seville. There, the manufacturing of pellets, zinc and bullets was carried out.
As the celebration of the Expo ’92 in Seville approached, the tower received a makeover. After a few years it was remodelled again, and its opening as “camera obscura” was in 2007. A beautiful garden, known as the Parque de los Perdigones lies at the feet of the Torre de los Perdigones, as well as a restaurant with a terrace. It has become a major tourist attraction for the city, thanks to its new role of lookout tower. Hundreds of visitors go up its 45 metres high each year to contemplate the beauty of Seville from above.
This “camera obscura” is an optical instrument thanks to which visitors will see projected a moving picture of what is happening in real time on the outside. From here you can see the Guadalquivir river and a large number of the most important monuments in Seville.
A magnificent option to discover Seville in an original way is to go into and up the tower, near the Hospital de las Cinco Llagas and the Basílica de la Macarena. We assure you that the views and the projected images in the camera obscura will make it worth it.
