Jardines de la Buhaira, in Seville, is a safe bet if you want to escape from the bustle of the city and want to find a moment of peace in an atmosphere that evokes the past.
Jardines de la Buhaira (“Buhaira Gardens”) are a safe bet if you are looking for a moment of peace in Seville (Andalusia, Spain). These gardens, located in Seville’s Nervión district, are divided into two areas. First of all, the Jardín del Palacio (“Palace Garden”), with a fountain in the middle of a little square, two ponds, lush vegetation and an Islamic pool next to the palace. On the other hand, the Jardín de la Historia (“History Garden”), with gardens and ponds.
A mere ten minute walk from the Jardines de Murillo, you can enjoy good food and culture around Jardines de la Buhaira, as there are some tapas bars and restaurants, and concerts are usually held on summer evenings. It is also very close to the Alcazar of Seville, where some scenes of the successful series Game of Thrones were filmed.
The Spanish architect Aníbal González left an unfinished dream very close to this point. He designed the blueprint of the Iglesia de La Milagrosa (“Church of La Milagrosa”) in 1928. This would be such a majestic temple that would compete in height with the Giralda. However, González would die a year later, and what would have been the largest basilica of all Seville also perished with him. The bases of the pillars are intact. At this point a restaurant called La Basílica was built, in order to remember the last great idea of the Sevilian architect.
If you want to escape for a moment from the hustle and bustle, go into the Jardines de la Buhaira and go back in time in an instant.
