If there’s a festivity that is full of religiosity, devotion and tradition, that’s the Spanish Holy Week in Seville. For one week, the passion, death and resurrection of Christ is represented and commemorated. 70 brotherhoods go out in procession through the streets of the city, and 60 of them do it until they reach the Seville Cathedral. Its importance not only covers Seville and Spain, but it already crosses borders: that’s why, since 1980, it’s considered an International Tourist Interest Festivity.

We know that summarising Seville in just five monuments and sights is, at least, risky. Why? Because we all agree that what makes Seville one of the most beautiful cities in Spain is the large number of impressive monuments it houses. However, on TUDESTINO we will dare to summarise them in just five. They are, undoubtedly, the most striking and the most visited ones when it comes to enjoying the city a few hours, either due to a stopover or an express business trip.

The Feria de Abril is, without a doubt, the Sevillian party par excellence. It is the event of the year for many Sevillians, Spaniards and foreigners; such is the interest that arouses. Moreover, it has been declared a Festivity of International Tourist Interest. Quite impressive, right? The April Fair is held for a week in the Sevillian neighbourhood of Los Remedios, in a large venue known as Real de la Feria. This enclosure is almost a labyrinth (especially, when you have already drunk something…), with endless streets, where the many casetas are placed. Almost half a million visitors (every day!), horse riders and cars pass through them. Fall in love with this spectacle of light, colour and joy!
