On June 27 of 2015, the first Gastroblogs Cádiz meeting was held at the Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Resort hotel in Jerez de la Frontera. A special date, where 10 gastronomic bloggers from the province cooked for different media and companies in the sector.
If you follow us in social media, you already know our involvement as collaborators in this event. We are really proud to be part of it, since it brings together several of our passions: cooking, the promotion of our land, establishing professional and personal relationships that strengthen the Cadiz brand and having fun. Because, above all, it was a very fun event.
We were surprised by the high number of gastronomic blogs that exist in the province and the high level they have. From that day, the only thing we can tell you is that we cannot highlight any particular recipe because all of them were delicious.
We loved being able to walk into the kitchen and chat with them as they made their creations.
This is the list of dishes and participants:
- Some delicious “Barbarte Tuna Rolls”, prepared by Lola López and her exceptional kitchen helper Miguel Duarte. Her blog is called “La Fritada” (you will not be able to stop cooking).
- A wonderful “Zucchini Tuna”, created by Carlos Caburrasi and his kitchen helper Carmen Segundo. Together they write the blog “No tengo Thermomix” (obviously, they do not need it).
- A fantastic and original “Guadalquivir Thinlip Mullet Tartar”, created by Manuel F. Caro and Rocío Ibáñez. Together they write the blog “Nuestra cocina de cada día” (and if they cook every day like this, we want them to adopt us).
- A wonderful “Tomato Soup” by María Luisa and Carmen Ibáñez. They run a blog called “Biendespachao” (a member of TUDESTINO bragged nonstop about their tomato soup until they tried this one).
- An incredible “Ham with rice”, created by Charo Barrios and her kitchen helper Antonio Vizcaíno. They talk about their creations in “Come en casa” (we want to make them resident chefs on weekends in our respective homes).
- An original and delicious “Poached Eggs with Roasted Potato Cream, Mushrooms and Roe cooked with Tintilla de Rota wine”, by Raúl Pérez and Carmen Thiery. Their website is called “De Camino a Mi Cocina” (it seems that one of the members of TUDESTINO could not stop eating this dish).
- A wonderful “Chicken Blood with Onions“, created by J. Alberto de la Torre and his exceptional kitchen helper Raquel Vega. They write on the blog “El Fogón de la Perla Gris” (it seems that another member of TUDESTINO disappeared with a dish full of this recipe).
- An incredible “Iberian Sirloin with Bucarito Cheese sauce cooked with Tintilla de Rota from Bodega El Gato“, cooked by Cristina Rodríguez and her kitchen helper Pilar Ruiz. Together they write “Aprendiendo a cocinar” (we were advising their legal representative to increase their cache).
- Another incredible recipe was the “5 minutes Express Cheese Cake and Coffee Mousse“, prepared by Chela González and her kitchen helper Agustín Rodriguez. You can visit their recipes in “Bizcochela” (we already ask them to take us in their kitchen).
- And last but not least, some “Poleá, Porridge or Mush” cooked by Fátima Delgado and Loli Rueda. Both of them are part of the “Grupo Gastronómico El Almirez” (this recipe was devoured in an instant).
As an accompaniment for these dishes, we had cheeses and cured meat known as “Chacinas” from El Bucarito in Rota, signature wines from Bodegas Luis Perez, a fantastic welcoming wineglass with white and red wines from Bodegas Faustino González, some incredible pacific oysters from Acuicultura Levante y Agua and delicatessen shaped as liquor-filled chocolates from Chocolates Pancracio.
Through the event we managed to meet journalists specialized in the gastronomy of the province and greet some friends. We also made first contact with the interesting project of Cádiz Industria Viva, from the Cámara de Comercio de Cádiz, introduced by Jose Manuel Cossi.
We believe that, obviously, the winners of this evening event were us, the lucky people who tasted these creations and the contributions of the collaborating companies.
Finally, we want to thank the organizers that allow us to do one’s bit in this event. We feel really identified and proud with our work for this province and want to be useful and help in any matter.
Thanks to Lola Rueda Comunicación Turismo 2.0. #1MayoEmprende, to the Asociación de Empresas Turísticas de Cádiz and their delegation from Jerez, to Eugenio Camacho and Cadena Ser, to the hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf & Resort team, and to Pilar Rodríguez.
Next year there will be more because better would be impossible!
