A gastronomic tourism initiative was presented at the restaurante La Baska on June 21, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. This gastronomic project aimed to give more visibility to the city of San Fernando and the gastronomy of the province of Cadiz, making San Fernando a tourist destination of interest.
The project “Eat, Drink, Feel Cádiz in la Isla“, developed by the restaurante La Baska together with the company MK-D Activo -Marketing y Publicidad, featured bimonthly events. The events were related in some way with one of the three key elements of the initiative :
• Gastronomy (EAT).
• Oenology (DRINK).
• Experiential event (FEEL).
The events offered within this project were like the next ones
• Wine tasting-pairing.
• Presentation of products: cheeses, wines, products of the land
• “The day of…”: cheeses, wines, salt-based products
• Conference about the gastronomic sector
• Educational events for kids and adults
• Experiential and/or thematic meals or tastings (for example; salt, products from fish farms, seaweeds, sweets. Industry experts, chefs or Michelin stars talk about their experiences and innovations in any of the three fields of the event. Organization of an Arab meal: decoration, dishes, drinks and music, everything planned by an expert in this area).
• Showcooking and much more.
The presentation on the 21st had the following schedule:
• 7:00 p.m. Guest reception.
• 7:15 p.m. Presentation of the project by José Ferrer (Ambassador for gastronomy of the Consejo Regulador of the designations of origin JEREZ-XÉRÈZ-SHERRY, Manzanilla and Vinegar from Jerez), with the participation of the Hon. San Fernando City Council and sponsored by Bodegas Yuste (Sanlúcar de Barrameda).
• 8:15 p.m. Networking and snacks.
