Seven magical spots in Chiclana
Our visit to Chiclana begins with the Hermitage of Saint Anne. The unusual octagonal shapes of this chapel have been raising above the bay since the 18th century. The incredible viewpoint that can be reached from the chapel will allow you to take in the panoramic views of the entire Bay of Cadiz.
In the Park of la Loma you will find an iconic spot of the city. This park also hides a viewpoint overlooking a great part of the coast of Chiclana. But its main point of interest as far as the tourists go is the monument dedicated to the Battle of Chiclana that was led against Napoleon’s troops. Here, you can also see the original canons from the same era.
Another magical point and symbol of Chiclana is the Temple of Hercules, a viewpoint located between the beaches La Barrosa and Sancti Petri, on the islet of Sancti Petri. The Temple of Hercules that can be accessed from the wooden boardwalk that connects it to the beach, is an ideal place for watching the spectacular sunsets or letting yourself be smitten by its artistic patrimony.
Las Marismas of Chiclana are marshlands of great natural beauty that you will find in the area of la Bateria Colora in the Los Franceses Pinewood. This truly magical place brings us closer to the scenery of marshlands and salt lakes. Far on the horizon, we can also make out the lovely silhouette of the Constitution Bridge in Cadiz.
Miralamar is another spot perfect for enjoying the views of the fields with Chiclana in the background. It also allows us to see the forms of San Fernando and the coast of Cadiz on the horizon.
El Carrascal is located in the area called Pago de Humo. This Little viewpoint is set near the hiking areas, in the middle of immense nature. La Espartosa is another magical corner of Chiclana. Located in the Hierro Pinewoods, and surrounded by nature, it offers views of a sea of green.
Chiclana is a city that has it all. From its wide green areas and historical locations, to first class beaches and restaurants, it is a place that will put you under its spell.
