Hall Museum Hospitalito
This is an extension of the City Museum where you can find collections of Islamic archaeology and the Middle Ages.
Priory Church
Also known as the Basilica of Nuestra Señora de los Milagros. This is a temple of Gothic origin. The side door and the altarpiece stand out on its façade. Once inside, we can appreciate the three naves with their vaults and the large collection of chapels.
City Museum
This building contains the most important archaeological, artistic and ethnographic assets from the history of El Puerto de Santa María. It also has a library where you will find audiovisual material.
Rafael Alberti Foundation
In memory of the author who belonged to the Generation of 1927. It is located in a building where the poet lived during his childhood. Inside you can find donations made by Alberti and his wife. Here you will discover various manuscripts, such as letters and even audiovisual documents. There is also a large library.
Castle of San Marcos
This is one of the historical emblems of the city. Its origins are Roman, although it has a strong Muslim heritage. This building fulfils religious and defensive functions. In addition to visiting the castle and its facilities, you can enjoy a visit to the winery, where you will enjoy a wine tasting.
Second Day
For today’s visits we will need a means of transport to get around, either by car, bicycle or public transport, it’s worth it!
Doña Blanca Archaeological Site
This centre for the interpretation and research of the Phoenician peoples of the area is in a very good state of conservation. Excavations of some huts have been found.
Castle of Doña Blanca
It consisted of a tower built during the 14th century with the function of guarding the area. However, it later became a hermitage. Its name is due to the fact that Mrs. Blanca de Borbón was trapped in this place.
Osborne Winery
Visit this winery where you can enjoy the facilities and taste some tapas.
Calita Beach
You can’t leave the city without visiting its beaches. That’s why we suggest you visit this small rocky cove, which is about 1 kilometre long. This cove is in a natural state, leaving a secluded and quiet area.
Even if you only have two days to visit this city, you will surely make the most of this visit and you will want to visit more and come back to El Puerto de Santa María.
