The best places to park in Jerez
Parking in the city center tends to be difficult, but with a little bit of luck, you can find a parking spot in the blue zone . Look for the spots marked with blue lines and pay by the hour at the nearest parking meter. The bad thing about the blue zone is that the maximum time of stay is just two hours. However, if you are visiting Jerez on a Sunday, you can park in these zones free of charge and without any limitations. Be careful with the orange zones. They indicate areas with a lot of traffic and you can’t park here for more than half an hour.
Free parking lots
Keep in mind that the center of Jerez is a pedestrian area. In the neighbourhood of El Arroyo, close to the historical center of the city and its cathedral, you can try your luck in the streets behind the Rota Gate. In this part of the city, the streets are quite wide and parking is free. You might have to pay for parking during the morning hours, but the ticket will not cost you more than one euro.
Another place where you might find a parking spot is located on the other end of the historical center of Jerez. You will find a free parking zone in the esplanade by the Bullring. This is a good place to park in the afternoon. If you come to Jerez in the morning, there will probably be less free spaces, because many people who work nearby leave their cars in this area. From here, it will take you around 10 minutes to get back to the center of Jerez on foot.
Pay-parking lots
If you have no time to waste during your visit to Jerez, the city also has underground parkings. The closest ones to the center are located in Plaza del Arenal, Calle Corredera, Alameda Cristina and Alameda Vieja. But if you plan on spending more than just a day in Jerez de la Frontera, we advise you to look for accommodation with parking.
Jerez de la Frontera is a wonderful city. We are sure that it’s worth walking its streets, visiting its bars, restaurants, taverns and wineries. And they will make you wish to come back soon.
