The Church of San Agustín was part of the Convent of San Juan Letrán in Arcos de la Frontera. It was founded in the first half of the 16th century. Moreover, it was occupied at the end of it by the Augustinian fathers.
It acquired some importance locally as a school, teaching subjects like Art, Philosophy and Grammar. In the 19th century it fell into decline, until the expulsion of the order during the confiscation of Mendizabal.
Of the complex, only the church remains. We should mention the statue of the Nazarene, which enjoys great popular fervour.
