The Church of San Juan de Dios is located in the heart of the old town of Cadiz. You will find it in the square that bears its name. What is more, it is attached to the building of the Town Hall.
It is a rare example of a church with Greek-cross plan. Outside, the tower, substantially renovated in the early 19th century, stands out. It was designed by Torcuato Cayon in 1768.
In its interior you can see the altarpiece of Baroque style dating back from 1688, made in gilt wood. It is chaired by the image of the Virgen del Buen Suceso, on whose sides the polychromed carvings of San Rafael and San Carlos Borromeo are located. Meanwhile, the attic of the altarpiece is occupied by the image of San Juan de Dios in Baroque style.
