Then, in 2012, it was the most awarded winery in Spain and the seventh worldwide. In 2014, it became the “Best Winery of Jerez“. The complex of Bodegas Los Arcos, built in the nineteenth century, houses six aging cellars that date back from different times. These are the main headquarters of the company. Visiting this place is synonymous with enjoying a cathedral-style winery with high ceilings and immaculate albero floors. These floors maintain a stable temperature and humidity to favour the special microclimate Sherry wines need.
During the visit to Bodegas Lustau, you will be able to get to know the history of the winery. It was founded in 1896 by Mr José Ruiz-Berdejo, who began modestly growing the vineyards at his property, known as Nuestra Señora de la Esperanza. His son-in-law, Mr Emilio Lustau Ortega, played an important role in expanding the business, which is nowadays a reference for international quality and prestige.
The guided tour requires an appointment and ends with a wine tasting from the winery.
Definitely, Bodegas Lustau is a must when visiting Jerez de la Frontera.
