OUR GUIDE WITH THE BEST CULTURAL INFORMATION OF RONDA

In Ronda, you can find a wide variety of places to visit, since the municipal area of Ronda occupies the so-called Ronda depression and is surrounded by mountains. Along with this, its privileged views make Ronda a very special town to visit.

As for its history and what you can visit, some remains date back to the Neolithic.

We can get to know and visit El Tajo, Puente Nuevo or Puente Viejo, previously considered “new” until the other bridge was built.

We also advise you to visit the Mondragon Palace, the Rey Moro Palace, the Mine and the Arab Bridge located a few metres from the Arab baths.

Something important about the culture of Ronda is its traditional festivities. The fairs take place in May (the May fair better known as the Ronda Romantica), September (the Pedro Romero Fair) and October (the San Francisco Fair). The first Sunday of July, the romeria of Virgen de la Cabeza takes place and as for music, the town can brag about their great musical culture. This municipality has its own Municipal Musical Band and Musical Association “Aureliano del Real”.

Regarding its gastronomy, simple dishes such as tomato and garlic soup, chickpeas or lentils stew, asparagus and mushrooms stand out. Ronda’s pumpkins, migas with spicy pork sausage, porridges, broad bean with tomato, garlic and ham, green beans with blood sausage, almond and artichoke soup, gazpacho a la serrana, the Ronda omelette and lamb stew are also traditional dishes that you should try when in Ronda. In pastries, El Tajo sweet yolks and the nuns’ sweets stand out.
