The Healthy and Accessible Tour along the Cadiz Seafront runs along the main promenades of the city. It is a long and fully accessible tour for people with reduced mobility.
We start at the Tourist Office of Paseo de Canalejas. In a couple of minutes we find the Diputación building and Plaza de España and its monument to the Cortes.
We continue through the Alameda Apodaca, a fantastic area to contemplate the entire Bay of Cádiz. After this walk through this beautiful viewpoint, we will get to see the Church of El Carmen, which played a fundamental role for the Spanish Constitution of 1812.
In a few metres we reach the Genovés Park, where we can enjoy its lovely trails and relax for a while. We will have passed before through the Baluarte de la Candelaria and the ECCO (Contemporary Creation Space).
After strolling around the park, we arrive at the Castle of Santa Catalina, which is now an interesting exhibition centre that we recommend you visit.
Now we get to one of the most emblematic places of Cádiz: La Caleta beach. This is one of the best places in the world to enjoy the scenery, watch the sunset or take a dip, with the Balneario de la Palma and the Old Hospice in the background.
In the middle of this beach we find the Castle of San Sebastián. To reach it you have to cross a long cobblestone walk that connects the city with the castle. This castle is well worth a visit. As you will discover, this Healthy and Accessible Tour will give you the opportunity to see real wonders.
After a long walk along the promenade with the Cathedral in the background (what a picture of the city!), we arrive at the Roman Theatre and the Cadiz Cathedral itself. A few metres later we find Puerta de Tierra, the old entrance to the city that served as a wall.
We enter the new area of Cádiz, taking a long walk along the city’s waterfront. From here we can see its beautiful beaches.
Once we arrive at the Hotel Playa Victoria, we turn towards the main avenue of Cádiz. After crossing it, we will reach the promenade of the Bay of Cádiz, with the fantastic “New Bridge” in the background that we will reach after a few metres.
At the end of this walk we find the Bahía de Cádiz Shopping Centre. After going down two Cadiz avenues, we will return to Juan Carlos I Avenue. From here we must go to Andalucía Avenue, where we will enjoy the Erytheia and Kotinoussa parks. These were ancient necropolis of the city and where you can still see Roman and Phoenician remains.
We finish the route crossing Puerta de Tierra again. We will go down Cuesta de las Calesas to return to the Tourist Office, from where we started.
In short, the Healthy and Accessible Tour along the Cadiz Seafront will give us unforgettable pictures of the city.
