Playa de Cruz del Mar, in Chipiona, has an area of slightly less than 1 kilometre. It is located in the same town, in the southern part of the port. This is a city beach of thick and golden sand with a very high degree of occupancy and usually calm water level.
It owes its name to the Cruz del Mar located on the seafront. This wrought iron monument was erected on a stone base to remember the actions of the inhabitants during the invasion after the Lisbon earthquake, taking out the Holy Christ of Mercy (Santísimo Cristo de la Misericordia) in procession.
It has good services, including access on foot, hammock rental, toilets, spa, Red Cross. Showers, rescue team, Tourist Office, wastebaskets, Parking, boardwalk. Local Police, Marina, warning sign, cleaning service, public telephone. Surveillance, services for the disabled and access for people with reduced mobility.
After enjoying a fun day at the beach, we recommend to take a walk along the promenade or sit down to taste the local cuisine at one of the restaurants around.
