There is a large number of theatres in the province of Cadiz, and each one of them has a special charm. Visiting the theatres of Cadiz is a must for tourists because of the wide range of performances and also because of their important meaning.

If you decide to enjoy and spend a few days in the oldest province of Europe, with more than 3,000 years of history, you should know that there are more than 330 days of sun a year and mild Mediterranean weather with an average annual temperature of 18.5 ºC. Moreover, its inhabitants have a cheerful and welcoming personality.

So, there is a wide schedule of theatre performances and different types of dances and music, including flamenco and popular performances such as traditional carnival shows.

The most important theatres of the province of Cadiz are the Gran Teatro Falla, in Cadiz city centre, where the Carnival of Cadiz is celebrated; the Teatro de Las Cortes, in San Fernando. Beyond its wide schedule, this is a place highly visited due to its important role in the first Spanish Constitution. You should also visit the Teatro de Títeres de la tía Norica (“Theatre of Puppets of Aunt Norica”) or the ancient Auditorio de la Merced, former convent in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. Finally, one of the most important ones is the Villamarta Theatre, in Jerez, where you can witness fantastic dance performances, among which you’ll find flamenco and many others.

TUDESTINO gives you all the information you need about the main theatres in the province of Cadiz.
