Ermita del Calvario is a chapel founded by Fray Buenaventura in 1700. It is small and simple, but it shines high above Ubrique (Spain). It is easily accessible, and even if you have to climb up hundred steps, the beautiful views are worth it.
As we climb, we go through the different stations of the Via Crucis that Fray Buenaventura set up: from the Hermitage of San Antonio to El Calvario in the eighteenth century. Later, it would be continued by Fray Diego José de Cádiz, but from the Convent of Capuchinos years later.
Currently, it is part of the procession of Cristo del Perdón every Easter Saturday evening. It is a spectacular experience that you should live at Holy Week in Andalusia.
