The Marques de Tamaron House Palace (“Casa Palacio Marqués de Tamarón”) is a manor house built in the late 17th century in Vejer de la Frontera. It was renovated and expanded in the 18th century by the Marquis of Tamaron.
It was built next to the Arco de la Segur, one of the entrance doors to the walled town. Noble families of the town lived in these houses, which also housed the Civil Guard headquarters.
The main façade is neoclassical, built with blocks of polished stone. The large entrance door is adorned by two columns that extend to the main balcony.
Today it houses the Casa de la Cultura (Culture House), where exhibitions are held throughout the entire year, and the Municipal Library. At the entrance we find the Interpretive Centre of Historical-Cultural Heritage of Vejer.
