There are several places in the province (Los Algarbes, Bacinete, El Berrueco and so on) where there are very ancient ruins from the Paleolithic period, the Neolithic and the Bronze Age.

Regarding the Phoenicians, there are very few remains along the Mediterranean. To get to know their way of life, it’s essential to visit the sites located in Cadiz.

Baelo Claudia, located in Bolonia (Tarifa), can be a magnificent example of Roman culture. It was an ancient Roman city built in the second century BC and located on a Phoenician settlement.
